Cherry

Cherry has made keyboard switches since 1953 and defined the MX stem that nearly every keycap on this site is cut for. The "Cherry-compatible" in a product description is a reference to this company.

We track 18 switches, four keyboards and one stabilizer. The switches carry the highest median price of any high-volume brand at $0.55 — roughly double Gateron and Akko — and 15 of 18 come lubed, which is a relatively recent change in how MX switches ship. The range covers every type, Hall-effect magnetics included. The keyboards are the outlier in this catalogue: only one of the four is hot-swap, because Cherry still sells largely into the office and OEM market where soldered switches are the norm.
